The competition programme has been updated: Competition programme (Dated 5.6.2009)
Venue: Bredmo, Lemland
All the shooting disciplines will be held at the Bredmo shooting range, which is situated about 25 minutes by
car from Mariehamn. This is Åland's main shooting range and the facilities are already being updated to cater for the events in 2009.
There are two skeet ranges, a trap range and a sporting range. A new indoor range for air pistol and air rifle was opened in 2004.
For pistol events there is a combined 25 and 50 metres outdoor range and a 10 metre indoor range for air pistol. A new 25 metres pistol range, at present under construction, will be used in 2009. There is a 50 meters small-bore outdoor range and a 10 metres indoor range for air rifle.
Åland's Shooting Association is the main shooting organisation on Åland. It was founded in 1977 and has about 130 members of whom 70 shoot regularly. The association has experience of organising competitions and its members often compete in national competitions.

After consultation between Ålands Shooting Association and the local Committee for Social and Environmental Health it has been decided that the use of lead shot will be permitted during the NatWest Island Games 2009.
