Ålands Idrottscenter is situated 15 minutes by car from Mariehamn. The main sports hall, which adjacent to the swimming pool, has a 33 x 45 metre floor area covered with Rucofloor plastic. It has changing rooms, saunas and a gym. There is seating for 240 spectators and a café area with indoor and outdoor seating.
Table tennis was re-awakened in 1999 after a number of years of inactivity and since then the interest in the sport has steadily grown.
There are five clubs with in total 50 active members and the IFK Mariehamn team plays in the Swedish league at senior level.
Åland has competed in the NatWest Island Games table tennis competition since 2003.
Information
* All Team Matches, Doubles Matches and Mixed Matches will be best of 5 Games.
* Men's and Women's Singles Semifinals and Finals will be best of 7 Games.
All the other Singles Matches will be best of 5 Games (same as in Rhodes).
* Balls : Stiga Competition 3 star
