Moving experience for gymnastics

Dozens of gymnasts, parents, coaches and fans turned up to give the gymnastics venue Bollhalla a make over before the start of the Games in a few weeks' time. It all ran like clockwork when the floor was moved piece by piece from one end of the hall to the other. The biggest challenge was moving the floor cover and it took some manpower to shift it across the hall.
Gymnastics co-ordinator Sabina Mattsson had made up a detailed plan for before and after indicating where all the apparatus should go. A competition of this calibre has never been organised in Åland before. The venue is on the whole well equipped, but rings are being hired from Sweden as well as some dismount mats.
Sabina was very pleased with the turn up of people and how quickly all the apparatus was moved - under two hours! Afterwards she thanked everybody and concluded with:
- Since we all worked so well together, let's do it all again on Monday the 6th of July at 6pm!
Two days after the big moving day, stands were put in. The spectators will now have a great overview of all the activities in the hall.
