New equipment for windsurfing
The windsurfing coordinator Marcus Björke has worked long and hard to finalise the deal and is very satisfied with the result. Starboard, which is one of the largest manufacturers of boards, have been used in previous Island Games. Tushingham, on the other hand, is new in the game.
- Raceboard is the best suitable board for Slemmern, the inlet east of Mariehamn, which is the reason why we have wanted it all along, says Marcus. There is no tide in Åland. The waters are calmer here than in Rhodes, but more challenging. The wind conditions require good technique, since the winds are very changeable.
